Diagnosing and managing work-related mental health conditions in general practice: new Australian clinical practice guidelines

Description

General practitioners play a crucial role in assessing and diagnosing patients with mental health conditions (MHCs) arising from the workplace and in assisting these patients to manage their condition and meet personal recovery goals. Until now, there have been no clinical practice guidelines that address the clinical complexities associated with diagnosing and managing work-related MHCs in general practice.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain key components of the new clinical practice guidelines.
  2. List appropriate tools to assist the diagnosis and determine the severity of MHCs.
  3. Recognise changes in management as result of the guideline.
