Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: a new standard of care

Description

The MJA searched PubMed to identify original papers and review articles from 1960 to 2018 as well as society guidelines and industry sources to formulate an evidence-based overview of the use of Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in clinical practice.

Learning Outcomes

  2. List and carefully consider several complex, often competing patient factors when deciding between a surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (sAVR) or TAVI
  3. Become aware of possible complications following a TAVI
