Dr Michael Makdissi is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in Melbourne. He has extensive experience with a range of sports and has been part of the Australian medical team at the Commonwealth Games (Delhi, Glasgow, Gold Coast) and Olympic Games (London). He currently works as a team physician for the Hawthorn football club (Australian Football League, ALF). 

Michael is a Research Fellow at the Florey Institute of Neurosciences and Mental Health (Melbourne Brain Centre, Austin Campus). He is a member of the Concussion in Sport Consensus Group and is currently an honorary member of concussion advisory groups to a range of professional sporting organisations (including AFL, World Rugby, Australian Rugby Union and Cricket Australia).
